Orphvn is a Hard Techno Producer/DJ from Chicago, IL.

 

With a background in drums and access to a household computer, Jackson downloaded a free version of FL Studios and started producing hip-hop beats in late 2010

 

Kicking off his production career in hip-hop, Jackson would sell Hip-hop/trap beats to local rappers and promote them online under the name “Tommy Runtz”.

Fast forward to 2018, Jackson took his talents far from home in rural IL to Californias studying Audio Engineering at Musicians Institute in Hollywood.

 

Jackson became enamored with the EDM scene in southern LA. With some help from his roommates and Instructors, Jackson changed gears from dishing out hip-hop/trap beats to ambient/experimental bass music. Due time Jackson would launch a highly anticipated dubstep project called “Dead Weight” in early 2022.

Over the course of the next 2 years, “Dead Weight” accumulated over 200K Listeners and 900k streams over multi platform streaming services along with sharing festival and club stages with Flux Pavilion,Whipped Cream, Dubloadz, Yultron, Yookie, Mashbit, Skeler, Benda, RZRKT and HOL!. “Dead Weight” also lands support from INHUMAN/Code Pandorum, Nitti Gritti, Nimda, Riot Ten and many more. 

 

Flying into 2024, Jackson found a new love for hard techno. After attending underground techno shows around the Chicago area, Jackson decided to take a proper stab at the genre. Wanting to keep “Dead Weight” a heavy dubstep project only, Jackson decided to launch a new project titled “Orphvn”.
